Our Social Prescribing team help people find the people and places that make life better. This could be help finding a local social group, getting money advice or joining an exercise class. Whatever you want to achieve, life can make it challenging to see it through. Here’s their tips on how to keep things going.
1. Keep in mind your initial motivation for setting the goal. What will life look like when you achieve it? How will you feel?

2. Stick to small achievable steps. It might take longer to get there, but it’s more likely to work if it’s manageable and you’re not over committing yourself.

3. Praise yourself for your achievements so far. Recognise the personal strengths that have helped you to get to this point.

4. Ask for help. Share your concerns and achievements with people that can keep you motivated and cheer you on. This maybe a friend or a local group.
If you would like the support from our social prescribing team and you live in Brighton and Hove, please ask your GP for a referral. If you’d like to volunteer with our social prescribing team, get in touch here.
