Working at Together Co

“
I’m April Baker, CEO at Together Co.
Our purpose is to create connections to change lives to reduce social isolation and loneliness in our city and beyond. It’s vital to us that we equip our staff with everything they need to thrive at Together Co to help us achieve our goal. This includes access to flexible working, mentoring, training, staff socials and free yoga.
We are committed to ensuring that our staff, trustees and volunteer teams are representative of our community, with a workplace that is inclusive and accessible to all. We know we still have a way to go to achieve our goals.

Seb joined Together Co in September 2013 on an apprenticeship. Their interest in journalism and media studies meant they were the perfect fit for the social media and digital marketing role, and then the admin and communications assistant.
Seb helped in the implementation of social prescribing and now provides admin support for the team, data reporting and monitoring, so the organisation can tell its story and show our funders all the amazing work we do.
They said:
“What I love about Together Co is the people. Everyone is so compassionate, friendly and welcoming. The expertise throughout the team is impressive and I have always felt that I am appreciated.”

Georgia first joined Together Co as a befriender and loved volunteering with us so much that she applied for a job here.
Her role is to support the befriending team, which includes co-ordinators, the operations lead and the head of befriending.
She also manages communications with scheme members and volunteers, and creates reports to help the team with funding bids.
She said:
“I was working in admin roles for a long time but I never felt like I was making a difference. I had been involved with volunteering before and got so much out of it as I knew I was helping people. I work five days a week and for my work to have meaning I want to know it is having an impact on people’s lives.”
