We are delighted to announce the start of a year long partnership with the Duke of Wellington pub!
The friendly sports pub, nestled on Upper Gloucester Road, behind Queens Road and just around the corner from Brighton train station, is run by the lovely Paul and Gabby, who re-opened its doors in spring 2021 after a long closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The couple reached out to Together Co because they said lockdown gave them a sense of empathy for people experiencing loneliness.
“Over the last year we realised acutely how important human contact is to our wellbeing, and we personally struggled with not being able to see our loved ones,” they said. “For some of us, the end of lockdown meant we were reunited with those we care about, but some people are not lucky enough to have a support network. We decided to support Together Co because we wanted to help make a difference to those people in the community who feel isolated and lonely all of the time.”
The partnership will kick off on Thursday 29th July with a general knowledge charity pub quiz in aid of Together Co. Entry is just £10 a team, and prizes up for grabs include a £50 bar tab. To enter a team, simply email firstname.lastname@example.org while spaces last!
We would like to wholeheartedly thank Paul and Gabby for their support and would be delighted to hear from anyone that would like to fundraise for Together Co and could use the pub as a space to do so.
And if your business would like to partner with Together Co to help end loneliness in the City, please email Nicola.email@example.com .
