Previously, Together Co Social Prescribing was only available via a referral from GPs across the city, but with the new hub residents can now apply directly for support. We can also take referrals from local agencies and community groups.

These new ways to access the free service, which helps people find the people and places they need to feel happier and healthier, mean it’s more straightforward to get involved than ever.

Yvonne, who has used Together Co Social Prescribing, said:

I was referred to Together Co Social Prescribing during a difficult period of time. Living with both physical and mental ill health, I had become isolated without realising it. [My link worker] was very friendly and made me feel safe. We talked about all the things I could do to help reconnect with people and build my confidence.

Clair Rowe, Head of Together Co Social Prescribing, said:

Now we can connect with people in Brighton and Hove who might not reach out to their GP, but would still like a helping hand to make positive changes in their lives. It will be a much needed asset for the city.
