I feel safer now I’m getting that support. It’s made me feel a lot happier, I don’t feel as depressed as I was. They encouraged me to be more independent.’
Since losing her job as a carer, Judy began to feel isolated. Living with mild learning difficulties and physical health conditions meant she struggled to get out and her mental health began to suffer. Her GP referred her to Together Co Social Prescribing where a volunteer helped her to secure a care package, financial advice, transport to her appointments, and even a weekly bingo session as a local club, which Judy says has made her feel a lot happier.
“I found [Together Co Social Prescribing] very useful, I was a bit of a mess when my volunteer came to me. It made me feel a lot better, I feel safer now I’m getting that support. It’s made me feel a lot happier, I don’t feel as depressed as I was. They encouraged me to be more independent.”
