We are delighted that Derrick Evans MBE, also known as Mr Motivator, has agreed to become an ambassador for Together Co.
The fitness instructor, motivational speaker, and TV personality known for his vibrant personality and colourful workout attire, brought The Motivational Experience to Brighton Palace Pier, collaborating with us during Loneliness Awareness Week in June.
On agreeing to become and ambassador for Together Co, he said: “Derrick said: “To get yourself socially fitter is a wonderful message.
“I believe in Together Co’s cause, I believe in what they are doing, and they believe in what I am doing.
“Like they say, in life, if you want to go fast you go alone, but if you want to go far, you go together.”
Resilience
Mr Motivator’s life story is one of resilience and triumph. From being given away at three months old to overcoming homelessness and single parenthood, his journey is a testament to the power of perseverance and positivity.
Now a wellbeing, fitness, and life coach, he continues to inspire people worldwide with his unique approach to health and fitness.
Born in 1952, in Manchester Parish, Jamaica, he moved to the UK in the early 1960s. His journey into the fitness world began in north west London, where he started as a fitness instructor.
He quickly gained popularity for his energetic and inclusive approach to fitness, which led him to provide one-on-one training to numerous celebrities.

His big break came in August 1993, when he joined GMTV, the UK’s leading morning television show. His dynamic exercise routines and infectious enthusiasm revitalised the show, making him a household name.
His career highlights have also included motivational speaking, charitable work, media and public appearances, voiceover work and bringing his energetic workouts to festivals for more than 15 years.
In the 2020 Birthday Honours, he was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for his services to health and wellbeing, receiving the award from Prince William in January 2022.
Legacy
Mr Motivator’ has established an online portal dedicated to health and wellbeing, offering workout videos, motivational content, and wellness advice, accessible to people worldwide.
He also founded Mr Motivator’s Bed Bank, a charity dedicated to reducing bed poverty in the UK by providing beds to children and families in need.
With his enduring passion and dedication, Mr Motivator continues to promote health and wellbeing, making a significant impact on individuals and communities alike.
