We are pleased to announce that Together Co Vaccine Buddies is accepting self-referrals, as well as referrals from health and social care staff. 

Our Vaccine Buddies can accompany and reassure people in Brighton and Hove who are anxious about attending their vaccination appointment. The Buddy will call the person ahead of the appointment to introduce themselves and will then meet them at the relevant vaccination centre – this includes Brighton Racecourse, the Brighton Centre, and mobile/walk-in Vaccination Units. A phone call after the appointment will also be offered. 

We ask for the following information about the person who needs support: 

• The person’s name, age, address and mobile number  
• A summary of the support required 
• The date and venue of the vaccination appointment if already arranged – we prefer 5 days’ notice if possible  
• Anything the Buddy needs to know that would help them be sensitive to the person’s situation.

Please note that we cannot offer transport or mobility support. 

Our Buddies will have a letter showing that they are from Together Co that they can show to vaccination centre staff and the person referred.
