Volunteering role

Social Group Volunteer

Help us meet and greet, serve refreshments and chat to our guests at our monthly social groups.

Time required

Flexible, get in touch to discuss.

Key skills required

  • Reliable
  • Trustworthy
  • Able to relate well to older people
  • Happy to regularly check in with our Volunteer Coordinator
  • Able to complete basic reporting back to us

Our two monthly social groups are a popular opportunity for our members to get out of their homes and mix with others. We’d love your help to ensure our guests feel included and comfortable. The Hangleton group meets on the last Monday afternoon of every month and the central Brighton group meets the last Thursday morning of the month (although these dates can sometimes change).

Befriending Phone Support

A friendly telephone call can make a big difference to someone who spends most of their time alone. You’ll be that person on the other end of the phone that makes someone feel less alone.

Befriending Volunteer

There are so many people in our city who long for a little company and support at home each week from someone just like you. Give an hour or two of your time each week and you could change someone’s world.
